How Education Will Empower Me to Help My Family and Society
I am Gladys Wangui Muthike, a student at Kabare Girls Secondary School. I am in form one. [=freshman year in high school] I have been performing well irrespective of fees hardships. I am sixteen years old. I come from a very humble family and I have been experiencing financial problems.
Though both parents are alive, they can hardly support my education. I have had no single complete term in school because of fees. I had to learn a second year in class eight [=senior year in junior high], hoping to join a secondary school later because of financial problems. I would like to seek your assistance.
I have two sisters in secondary school, one at Kianjege Secondary School and the other at St. Patrick's Senior Secondary School. I also have other two siblings in Primary school. My parents are Mr. and Mrs Joseph Muthike Miguel.
Since I was in Primary School, I have always had a dream of becoming a doctor. Looking back at my background, I almost gave up, because of low living standards of my family. My parents are farmers who own half of an acre and grow subsistence crops.
Through God's Power, today I am in a secondary school whereby, I have discovered that the race is not for the swift, nor the battle for the strong, nor riches for intelligent, but time and chance happen to them all. I have decided to channel my unlimited Power, mind Power to materialize my thoughts into reality irrespective of the difficulties of fees payment. I have faith in God and I believe that I will achieve my already set objectives.
Through this, I will upgrade the living standard of my Parents. I will also render Services to the Society and educate them the benefits of living in a clean environment to prevent outbreak of diseases which are causing death of many people. This way, I will have fulfilled my dream of becoming a doctor.
