President’s Message

One of the most exciting things for me to see is the number of new people becoming involved with GTL and the work that we do.  Since the spring, Teresa Claugus, Creighton Peet and Nancy Dougherty have joined the board; Cynthia Rose has joined Alex in the office; Tim Haley has volunteered to do our bookkeeping; Lauren Gaw, Emily Fuller and Hannah Poor are volunteers who have helped Alex elicit our scholarship recipients’ stories from their applications and other documents in their files; Grace Tenner volunteered her talents as a graphic designer to develop our new brochure; Wilson Muraga, an accountant, is volunteering with the Finance Committee; and Nancy Wilber and Mary Ann Millsap are using their considerable expertise to help us develop a system for following up on the girls we support.  That so many people want to be part of GTL reaffirms the value of what we do. Their involvement will only help GTL become a better organization. Thank you to our volunteers for the work that you do.
