Felistas

Felistas is an orphan; she and her 55-year-old grandmother live alone in Ngangarithi township in Nyeri. She really admires her grandmother, because she is generous with what she has, laughs a lot, and has a strong faith in God.

Their home has running water, but they cook on an open fire.  Felistas wants to be a bank manager in America and to use the money she earns to help other orphan children.

Before GTL sponsored her, she was being sent home every term for non-payment of fees, and had no money for uniforms. She likes school very much, especially Chemistry and Math; she gets up at 3:50am every morning to study.

When she is not studying, she likes talking with her friends and going to church. She says, "I hope God will help me excel in my education and through my whole life. I will follow the law of Wangari Maathai that 'the Sky is the Limit.'
